The staff at Cherryfield are amazing, very friendly, polite, helpful and always go the extra mile to support my mum's needs. The manager is such a lovely person I've never known one like her! She goes out of her way for her residents and treats the home like her home. She’s very kind, thoughtful, helpful and I feel very relaxed my mum is being cared for by these lovely outgoing people.

“I feel very happy that my father is at Cherryfields, prior to him living there he was depressed and lonely and our relationship was a stressed one. Now he is happy, we have our father and daughter relationship. My father is very well looked after and said he feels safe and is worry free. The staff are very caring and treat the residents with respect. The manager is amazing and some of the staff excel in their jobs and go the extra mile. A big thank you to the staff and manager for the care and friendship he now has in his later years.”

“After two very bad experiences my mum moved to Cherryfield house in August 2015. The minute she walked in she was a different person - more the mum we had always known. She couldn't even talk when she arrived but now they can't shut her up! Cherryfield is a lovely warm homely place and all the staffare genuinely happy at their work. We though we have lost our mum but they have given us back the mum we know and love. We can't thank them enough.”

“I regularly attend Cherry fields Care home to review a service user who is under the care of the CMHT. I often get handovers from Sam re. the service users progress and any concerns she may have. During these conversations it is evident Sam has great empathy for residents in her care who have Mental health conditions, she is insightful and extremely caring and supportive towards this client group. Sam has gone out of her way to ensure the services users environment and bedroom is comfortable and personalised to the patients wishes to ensure she feels comfortable at Cherryfields, and to make it feel like ‘home’. Sam consistently goes above and beyond to support services users individual needs, and clearly works over time to ensure they have a comfortable and fulfilling life at Cherryfields. Sam clearly works in a patient centred manor, and it is evident she see’s the whole person and holistically meets their needs. Sam clearly runs an efficient and warm environment, the staff who work for her always appear cheerful and very helpful! Each time there is a concern Sam will liaise with relevant services and escalate issues accordingly, it is clear Sam is extremely dedicated to her role!”

“I have worked along side for 14 years. I find Sam to compassionate and a caring person. Since working at cherryfields Sam as made a lot of changes in the home making more modern for service uses Sam goes above and beyond for service users she goes shopping for some of them and if anyone runs out of anything Sam makes sure they have got what they need If anybody wants to do something special Sam will arrange it for them Books holiday for them. Also listens to them and helps them resolve any situations or difficulties where she can Sam is easy to approach and you can talk to her about anything and supports her staff with any issues they may have. Sam supported me when my sister was terminally illand when she passed away Which I really appreciated And supports all staff Couldn't ask for a better manager If I had to go in care home I would want a caring efficient person like Sam in charge.”
Resident's family member
“We are a local funeral directors who have worked with Sam for a few years. We call her the ‘Real Life Angel’. That hopefully says it all! The time, effort and care she puts into arranging the funerals of the residents, who sadly don’t have families to do this for them, is astonishing. We’re sure their own families could not do it any better. How fortunate your residents are to have someone like Sam looking out for them. We always say she deserves an award so we really hope she gets one! We deal with many care homes/sheltered housing etc and have never come across anyone as dedicated and caring, which is so obvious in her actions, as Sam is. ”
